What We Do
The Ponte Vedra Beaches Coalition is comprised of community members spanning all neighborhoods in Ponte Vedra and Palm Valley.
Our goal is to stay updated on current and vital issues in our county that impact the welfare of our residents and visitors. We update our members with the Neighborhood Bills of Rights, which notifies the districts of upcoming hearings in-front of the Architectural Review Committee, The County Commissioners, The Zoning Board and the Ponte Vedra Zoning and Adjustment Board. We meet monthly to discuss and organize community efforts to protect our environment and lifestyle.
The PVB Coalition has succesfully worked together on such community issues as preventing LED Digital Billboards into St. Johns County. We work together to learn about and support the candidates who are running for County Commissioner, School Board seats, etc. We educate our neighbors on the ongoing traffic studies and the impacts that are involved with the various potential development plans. We stay active with the annual county budget hearings, to stay on top of how our tax monies are being spent. We strive to maintain our trees, our wildlife, our lifestyle and an intelligent growth pattern. We work as a collective, to better our community.
Anyone can be involved with the Ponte Vedra Beaches Coalition and can be included in our email list to be involved and informed. Please just contact us for further information, or to be added to the list. Our meetings are open to the public and we are interested in exploring and learning about all issues that impact us near and far.
PLEASE GET INVOLVED IN OUR COMMUNITY TODAY TO MAKE THE IMPACT THAT WE ALL KNOW WE CAN MAKE AS A COLLECTIVE!

Sea Turtle Nesting Season
The beaches of St. Johns County are home to several species of endangered or threatened sea turtles. Residents and visitors have a special opportunity and responsibility to protect these magnificent creatures and their vulnerable nesting sites as they return each season to nest. Nesting season began May 1, and County officials are asking residents, visitors, and businesses to help protect natural habitat by observing all nesting season laws and regulations. All beachfront properties are required to reduce their impact by eliminating interior and exterior lights which may disrupt nesting sea turtles. Volleyball court lights at St. Johns County Pier Park will turn on at sunset and turn off at 9 p.m. https://www.visitflorida.com/en-us/thing

Announcement Email
Good afternoon and hope this email finds you doing well. There are a couple of updates for the PVB Coalition family.
Our rock star, Vicki Corlazzoli, was involved in an accident when out riding her bicycle on October 19th. She was in ICU, but has recently been moved to CCU. Eventually, she will be ready for a rehabilitation facility. Her husband, Mark, will let us know when she is ready for visitors and we will set up a schedule to help Mark with meals and other needed assistance. Please let me know if you want to be included and I will keep a list for Mark. Meanwhile, we are sending her family love and prayers.
On a separate note, I am no longer able to dedicate the volunteer hours needed to be an effective member of the team and am no longer able to continue to serve the board.

Coastal Storm Risk Management >>
The USACE’s contractor completed work on the Coastal Storm Risk Management project. Dune planting has finished. Please continue to refrain from walking or sitting on the dune crest as this will damage the plants and dune feature. Property Owners and their Guests may cross the dune from the property to the beach and back. Try to pick one path and stick to it to minimize impact.
1000 Friends of Florida: Study on what Florida will look like in 2070
The bottom line is that local governments should consider the long view, even when making development decisions on small tracts of land. The cumulative effect of multiple small land use changes will, over time, shape the future landscapes of Florida for better or worse. Strategies to save special places include protecting vital conservation, agricultural and other working lands like those on Florida Forever and Florida Greenways lists, supporting funding for greenways and corridors that protect wildlife habitat and provide recreational opportunities, establishing incentives and increasing funding to help land owners conserve important agricultural lands and other working landscapes, and working to significantly lessen the impact of new development on Florida’s lands and waters.
